What: Prominent scholars will discuss the importance of free expression on campus in two panel discussions that are part of the symposium “In Defense of Academic Freedom.”

Who: The symposium will be chaired by Tariq Ali, Editor of Verso Books, and a sponsor of the event.
Panelists for the first session, to begin at 2:10 will be Akeel Bilgrami (Columbia University); Noam Chomsky (Massachusetts Institute of Technology); Tony Judt (New York University); John Mearsheimer (University of Chicago).
Panelists for the second session, to begin at 3:30 p.m., are Norman Finkelstein (formerly of DePaul University), Neve Gordon (Ben-Guiron University), Mehrene Larudee (International Studies Program, DePaul University) and Evan Lorendo (DePaul Academic Freedom Committee).
