A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 2 to honor University of Chicago law professor Bernard D. Meltzer. The service will be held at the University of Chicago Law School, Glen A. Lloyd Auditorium, 1111 E. 60th St.
Meltzer was a leading scholar of labor law, a prosecutor at the Nuremberg war crimes trial and helped draft the charter of the United Nations. He was the Edward H. Levi Distinguished Service Professor Emeritus. He was an alumnus of the Law School and was a professor there for nearly four decades. He died Thursday, Jan. 4 at the age of 92 at his home in Chicago.
