University of Chicago students receive ARCS scholarships
Seven University of Chicago students have each received $10,000 scholarships for the 2006-2007 academic year from the Chicago Chapter of the Achievement Rewards for College Scientists Foundation (ARCS).
The University’s seven ARCS scholarship recipients are John A. Finarelli, evolutionary biology; Gerri E. Hutson, organic chemistry; Michael D. Seifert, physics; Surangi W. Punyasena, evolutionary biology; Erica R. Aronson, Pritzker School of Medicine; Shahnaz A. Kazi, Pritzker School of Medicine; and Ann M. Laake, Pritzker School of Medicine.
The Chicago ARCS chapter is one of 14 chapters nationwide that assist U.S. graduate students by providing scholarship support in the natural sciences, medicine and engineering. Students are recommended for the scholarships by deans and department chairs.
