Tsunami Relief Efforts on Campus

Numerous organizations affiliated with the University of Chicago are working to assist people in areas affected by the devastating December 26th tsunami. If you would like more information about these efforts, please contact the organizations listed below directly. Ongoing Efforts:

  • Rebuild Sri Lanka Solar Initiative
    Organized by alumni Caitrin Lynch and Kate Schechter
    Working at the behest of the Sri Lankan charity called Rebuild Sri Lanka, this organization will address several pressing issues such as hospital lighting, vaccine refrigeration, water pumping, and water purification. It will also serve the long-term rehabilitation of the area, providing energy for homes, schools, orphanages, clinics, community centers, and communications systems.
