Ana Castillo to give keynote speech for César Chávez Commemoration on April 8
Nationally recognized author and poet and University of Chicago alumnus Ana Castillo will address the University of Chicago community in commemoration of activist César Chávez's birthday. This is the third year the University of Chicago celebrates the life and teachings of the founder of the United Farm Workers. Chávez, a follower of the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., was touted by Sen. Robert Kennedy as "one of the heroic figures of our time".
