Annual MFA exhibition to feature reactions to Bunny Mercer, a mysterious fictional character
| What: | In this years MFA exhibition, Longing for Bunny Mercer, seven artists have created paintings, sculpture, video, and mixed media installation in response to the fictional character Bunny Mercer. Each artist has a different view of Bunny, a character they created as a group: suave ex-lover, surrealist house guest, menacing childhood memory. The exhibition was co-curated by Whitney Rugg, curatorial intern, and Stephanie Smith, associate curator at the David and Alfred Smart Museum of Art.
Free copies of The Bunny Book, an artist's book comprised of visions and thoughts about Bunny Mercer, will be available at the exhibition. The Bunny Book was created with the assistance of a grant from UChicagoArts, the Universitys new arts funding body.
