University of Chicago dean appointed to Pulitzer Prize Board

Danielle Allen, a dean of the humanities division at the University of Chicago, has been elected to the Pulitzer Prize Board, Columbia University announced. Allen is a professor in Chicago's departments of political science and the classics. She has degrees from Princeton and Harvard and the University of Cambridge.
Columbia made the announcement on Wednesday. The Pulitzer Prizes will be announced on April 16, 2007, and presented in May at a ceremony at Columbia University. Columbia awards the prizes in journalism, literature, music and drama after their determination by the 19-member Pulitzer board.
